Embroidered Christmas Napkins

As Christmas draws closer, I’m starting to think about my Christmas table. With a focus on creating a sustainable Christmas item that will be re used each year and hopefully passed on to my children, I set to making some embroidered cloth napkins.

You will need:

  • Pfaff embroidery machine (I used the creative 3.0
  • Embroidery design file (I used this file from oopsie daisy embroidery)
  • Various embroidery threads in your chosen colours
  • Napkins (I used some vintage damask napkins that I thrifted, but you could also make them out of linen or cotton)

I used a single layer of tear away stabiliser for this project. Depending on the weight of your napkins or fabric you may require a second layer of stabiliser.

I went with traditional colours, with some pink added in to match my décor. You could personalise the colour scheme to suit your own style with rich traditional, neutrals, blues… whatever takes your fancy!

Nutcrackers are a popular choice for Christmas design, but the possibilities are endless!

The design I purchased has 5 different images to work with, making for a lovely set. You could also work with the same design across all your napkins or personalise with monogrammed initials.

I can’t wait to use these on my Christmas table this year, and for many years to come.

Until next time, happy sewing
