Personalised Hooded Towels

Personalisation is definitely having a moment! I'm seeing monograms and embroidered names popping up on store-bought garments everywhere, and I personally am loving it. As a mum of Identical twin girls, I was already a fan of adding their names to things, and my love of everything personalised has only grown since having the PFAFF creative 3.0 in my life.

I thought I'd have a play with the in-built fonts in the machine for this project. There are two fonts built-in, with three size options, making it really versatile for a lot of projects.

my twins needed some new hooded towels for swimming, so I went for matchy matchy with a personalised touch. The towels were a sale buy from one of the big discount chain stores, and while they are a cute print, the embroidery will make them really special.

I used the Graphite font in the 20mm size, hooped up in the smaller 200x200mm hoop as this fit easily into the hood of the towel and the lettering was a good size for the space I had.

I didn't use any stabilizer for this project. Maybe a risky move, but the towel was thick enough with no stretch to handle the weight of the embroidery and remain stable, as long as it was securely held in the hoop, nice and tight.

This was a really quick easy project. The font feature is easy to use and the two hoop sizes that come with the machine make them suitable for a wide range of projects. I actually can't believe how easy this was! Now to embroider ALL THE THINGS!
