We are embracing the Halloween spirit at my house and getting set for a spooky, fun, festive Halloween season!
I've got quite a few Halloween projects on my make list and this first one was a request from my 14 year old Daughter. Now it's not that often I get asked to make something for my big kids so I jumped at the chance.
I once again used the maker sweater pattern from the lingerie society, made up in a size 14 for a slouchy look.
The fabric used is a French terry from Belgian fabric house See you at six, available here
The cool embroidery design was one I found on Etsy from Viral embroidery The file comes with a few different sizes, and I used the largest one, which was a great size for a sweatshirt. I sew on the creative 3.0 and once again have achieved great results with this embroidery!
For stabilising this embroidery I used two layers of tear away. The fabric is quite stretchy, so I wanted to stabilize it while the embroidery was being done, but not be left with a stiff patch afterwards, the tear away worked great for this.
The maker sweater is a really quick easy sew, there's a sew along here if you'd like to check out how it comes together.
Stay tuned for more Halloween makes!
Until next time, happy sewing
